Biographie / Biography

Alain est un acteur avec un enseignement classique, qui possède à son crédit
plusieurs années de travail de scène.
Il a joué dans quinze productions Shakespeariennes, incluant le rôle titre dans Hamlet,
ainsi qu’une saison au Stratford Festival. Il a jouer Buckingham avec William Hurt dans le rôle titre de Richard III au Manitoba Théatre Center a Winnipeg.

À l’écran, nous avons pu voir Alain dans Snake Eyes de Brian De Palma et,
il fait parti de la distribution dans le film de Marlon Brando, Free Money.

À la télévision, il tient un rôle dans les téléfilms suivants :
The Patty Duke Show Reunion (CBS), 36 hours to die (TNT) The P.T. Barnum Story (A&E). Silent Night (Hallmark Ent.) et Le Dernier Chapitre (CBC) et Agent Of Influence.

Alain apparaît aussi dans The Boys of St. Vincent et joue un rôle titre dans le film,
gagnant d’un Award, The Drive.

Prochainement Alain reprend son rôle dans les téléseries Le Négociateur. Et le rôle titre dans la comédie The Tournament (CBC)

BIOGRAPHY ALAIN GOULEM

Born and raised in Montreal, Alain is a bilingual actor/director who works extensively in voice, TV, film and theatre. He was a series lead on the CBC comedies 18 to Life and The Tournament. Guest appearances on TV include episodes of The Art Of More, Helix, Being Human and Dead Zone. Alain was in the cast of the award winning CBC mini series The Boys of St Vincent and was featured in such notable films as Brooklyn ,The Trotsky, Snake Eyes, Deadfall and Deny Arcand’s Stardom. In French television and film Alain had featured roles in the TVA tele-roman Sauve Qui Peut and the TVA tele-serie Le Negociateur . More recently he was seen in the award winning bio pic Louis Cyr and the feature film Le Temps des Roses. He appeared at Espace Go in the Serge Denoncourt directed play Ana, which subsequently toured theatres across Scotland. He has performed on stage with Manitoba Theatre for Young Audiences, The Citadel, Manitoba Theatre Centre, The Banff Centre, The Stratford Festival and Centaur Theatre, among others.

Alain is also a notable director. Credits include the critic- and crowd-pleasing bilingual play Head à Tête (Geordie Productions), The Complete Works of Wllm SHkspr (abridged) and Shakespeare’s Lost Play (Repercussion), the bilingual adaptation of The Anger in Ernest and Ernestine (Hudson Village), and Fire (Lac Brome). Alain has also directed many premieres of Canadian plays, notably Alexandria Haber’s On This Day (Centaur Theatre) and Colleen Wagner’s Down from Heaven (Imago Théâtre). Among the many collective creations he has helped develop and direct are the Just for Laughs hit MöcShplat (a clown-gibberish adaptation of Macbeth) and the critically lauded Ümlout (a clown-gibberish adaptation of Hamlet).

Career Highlights: Alain has been nominated four times for a Gemini award (twice for The Tournament and twice for 18 to Life) and won the 2006 Montreal ACTRA Award for Best Performance in Film or TV for his work on the CBC comedy The Tournament.
